The Marketing Managers’ Index is based on a four-question survey of execs in the enterprise technology sector. The aim is to build a picture of confidence and future prospects.

You may have heard of the Purchasing Managers’ Index, which surveys the views of the world’s paper-clip-buyers. The press often picks up on the PMI numbers eg the BBC report

The Marketing Managers’ Index is a survey of marketing managers in technology companies. Marketing tends to be more forward-looking (and more interesting!), and the survey results are likely to be a better predictor of business activity.
