Welcome to Erik Korsvik Østergaard, author of Anticipatory Leadership, subtitled How can leaders use Futures Thinking inside their organizations to shape their structures, cultures and governance?
Erik is – would you believe – known as the CEO Whisperer but don’t be fooled, he has an MSc in Applied Mathematics. This is a somewhat philosophical book – for example: the future is only in our minds! – even as it covers case studies from the real world. It includes multiple case studies such as Pingala, an IT consultancy, and Erik writes honestly about how people respond to futures thinking: “Not everyone found the activities engaging or easy to grasp.”
Anticipatory Leadership is probably one of the most intriguing books I have read, and covers an immense amount of thought-provoking ground. The book is published by LID Publishing and as always is available from Amazon and all good bookshops.
