Like lasers, blockchain started as a solution looking for a problem โ and of course lasers are now ubiquitous (theodolites, DVD players, display pointers, scalpels, optical tweezersโฆ).
Practical blockchain applications are emerging โ for example, blockchain technologies will enable automated, secure micro-trading of energy generation and consumption.
What does it actually mean, though? Itโs easy to read a zillion words on blockchain and then have absolutely no idea what this blockchain schmlockchain gravytrain isโฆ
But itโs easy: blockchain means a greener planet! With blockchain, the solar panels on my roof can automatically sell surplus energy to a remote consumer, and the transaction is validated and secured by blockchain.
Green planet, AND I make money! Boom!
Who cares HOW it does it โ just tell me and sell me the benefits.
